The IPSTA Conference is proud to offer two different pre-conference courses for the 2017 conference. 

Course(s): Sunday November 5th, 2017    8:30 AM – 4:30PM
Cost is $100.00 per attendee.

Separate Registration is required for Pre-Conference Courses

 Beyond CIT / Beyond 9-1-1                                           
Telecommunicators must be prepared to deal with situations involving a person experiencing mental health issues/crisis and know how to respond to these situations. There is no denying the high volume of such calls and the significant number of reoccurring encounters with people experiencing mental health issues.                                                 
  Attendees will learn to:

Be able to choose an appropriate course of action in dealing with individuals with mental illnesses.
Enhance their ability to determine an appropriate response to the situation at hand.
Help begin to de-escalate a crisis, and enhance officer / responder safety as well as public safety, in turn reducing the potential for civil and criminal liability.
 
Cyber Security Awareness

In this NENA course, you will understand what cybersecurity means in the world of 9-1-1; discuss the most severe cyber-risks to public safety; and learn how to develop the policies and procedures necessary to prevent and mitigate the damage caused by software viruses and network intrusion attacks.
The intended audience includes: PSAP technical staff, Managers/Supervisors, and ETSB personnel.

Earn 1 point for ENP Certification for attending this course.
