The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International (APCO) is a member driven association of communications professionals that provides leadership; influences public safety communications decisions of government and industry; promotes professional development; and, fosters the development and use of technology for the benefit of the public.

APCO International exists to continuously enhance public safety communications through leadership, professionalism and service.

 

The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials - International, Inc. - APCO International - is the world's oldest and largest not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to the enhancement of public safety communications.  With more than 16,000 members around the world, APCO International exists to serve the people who manage, operate, maintain, and supply the communications systems used to safeguard the lives and property of citizens everywhere.  The ILLINOIS CHAPTER has over 500 members from all areas of the state

As a member of APCO International, you are an important part of the strongest network of public safety communications professionals in the world. Your experience, knowledge, and expertise, combined with that of our other members, helps all of us achieve our goal of excellence in public safety communications.

Membership benefits include the monthly publication - Public Safety Communications/The APCO Bulletin as well as the chapter's newsletter, The Tranzmitter.  A variety of training programs are available at both the international and chapter levels and both the international and chapter will keep you informed on important legislative matters affecting public safety.
