Program Description
An excerpt from NENA's 8-Hour Advance Fire Dispatch Course, where we will explore the importance of monitoring fire ground operations, recognizing pre-MAYDAY communications, and the essential role Telecommunicators play in MAYDAY situations.
Presenter Bio
With nearly two decades of 911 experience, Alicia Atkinson is Deputy Director of Administration at RED Center. Starting at Tri-Com Central Dispatch, she honed her skills as a Telecommunicator, Certified Training Officer, and Training Coordinator. As she integrated her experience with her passion for training and technology, Alicia entered the private sector, leading projects and teams that elevated the standard of care in PSAPs worldwide. Now at RED Center, she oversees the staff and administrative programs responsible for serving as the dispatch center for 14 fire departments, MABAS Division 3, and the IL MABAS Statewide Response. Alicia participates in numerous committees within the 911 community and is an active member of NENA, serving as an Instructor, the Illinois Region 1 Director, and the Illinois Training and Education Committee Chair.
