A message from Ralph Caldwell and our Joint Legislative Committee along with Colonel Walters ISP
The Board's (SAB) recommended changes to the Emergency Telephone Systems Act, contained in Senate Amendments 1 & 2 to House Bill 3940, were passed on Friday night by the House prior to the General Assembly adjourning for the week. House Bill 3940 will now go to the Governor for signature within the next few weeks. I want to thank the Board members for your work on this legislation over the past several months, and congratulate you all on the positive changes to 9-1-1 for our State.
I would also like to thank our legislative members, especially Representative Angie Guerrero-Cuellar and Senator Bill Cunningham, for helping to shepherd the legislation through the committees and the House and Senate chambers respectively, to get us to a final vote on this legislation. We appreciate the work you've put into getting this piece of legislation through the process to final passage on Friday.
